The Madam of the Haus of Burlesque, Silla Black has released a Creed for use across the industries from pole, burlesque, exotic to modelling. The Creed is written for Judges, Producers and Performers. The creed is a basic outline of the behaviour that should be demonstrated across all performance art platforms.
The paramount objective of the Creed is to outline guidelines for the major parties involved in the industries to assist them in maintaining and improving ethical standards, whilst reassuring the public about the integrity of the industry and the creator, Striplesque.
Silla is happy for the Creed to be referenced and utilised by members of the community. If they are used, Silla only asks that she is referenced as the original author. Currently there is no standard Codes of Conduct in the burlesque community. There is work being led by Australia's Queen of Burlesque, Imogen Kelly, with the EMAA and state representation.
The formal Code of Conduct once released will be referenced on this website.
